We are seeking an uncommon professional to join our team as a Test Consultant.
Under the direction of Information Technology Management and advanced levels of professional staff, provide professional and technical support in the test planning, test design, and test execution of technology solutions. Lead self and others through all phases of the testing life-cycle on medium to large-sized projects.
Job Responsibilities:
Test Leadership: 50-60%
1) Develop and oversee the implementation of approved testing plans and activities. Track overall testing progress and report status and any issues to management and project team members.
2) Provide leadership, technical guidance and training on all aspects of the testing lifecycle for medium to large-sized projects.
3) Understand the impacts and system interdependencies on assigned projects.
4) Develop and maintain strong working relationships with development and business teams for assigned areas.
5) Ensure adherence to Testing Standards and Framework.
6) Develop and maintain a strong teamwork environment.
7) Oversee team execution by CUNA Mutual as well as vendor staff to ensure quality outcomes.
Test Execution: 30-40%
1) Analyze requirements for testability and functional gaps.
2) Review testing documentation developed by the team.
3) Develop and execute test cases and report results according to established test plans and using established test data. Lead in responding to issues with test plans, cases and data.
4) Document and report on testing activities using established tools and practices.
5) Log defects and track to closure, working with development teams to establish defect validity and cause, and retesting as needed.
6) Perform Ad-hoc testing as appropriate.
7) Handle testing issue escalation in a timely fashion.
8) Demonstrate mastery in at least one testing discipline (Functional, Performance, Automation, Mobile).
Internal Partnerships: 10-20%
1) Work with testing team members, development team and business partners to maintain in-depth knowledge of business processes supported by assigned area.
2) Apply effective communication practices within and across teams.
Job Requirements:
1) College degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent trade-off in related professional work experience.
2) 5-7 years of testing and quality assurance experience.
3) 2-3 years of peer leadership experience in an extended team environment.
4) Demonstrated communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
